Valkyr Mark IV

For processing cylinders with inoperable valves and those containing low-pressure liquefied gases such as chlorine, IES has designed and uses a highly portable, rapid set-up machine, the Mark IV. This IES Valkyr Class Cylinder Management Device is designed to safely access compressed gas cylinders and other hazardous containers for sampling, treatment, or recontainerization. The Mark IV provides a totally enclosed processing environment, and is capable of handling cylinders up to 14-inches in diameter. This system features the following:

  • A carbon steel containment vessel designed to ASME service standards.
  • An operating pressure of 250 psig but can be modified to safely contain cylinders with pressures up to 6,000 psig by coupling it with auxiliary pressure "overflow" vessels.
  • Interior surfaces may be passivated to allow processing of highly reactive gases, such as fluorine.
  • Complete atmospheric control for cylinder processing using inert gases that blanket the target container.
  • Vessels connections allow target material released inside the vessel to be removed in either gas, or liquid phase
