For processing lecture bottles with inoperable valves containing low-pressure
liquefied gases such as chlorine, IES has designed and uses a highly
portable, rapid set-up
machine, the Mark III. The IES Valkyr Class Cylinder Management Device
is designed to safely access compressed gas cylinders and other hazardous
containers for sampling, treatment, or recontainerization. The Valkyr
Mark III provides a totally enclosed processing environment, and is
capable of handling cylinders up to 4 inches in diameter. Structurally,
the system features:
- A carbon steel containment vessel designed to contain up to 250
psig.
- Interior surfaces may be passivated to allow processing of highly
reactive gases.
- Atmospheric control for cylinder processing using inert
gases that blanket the target cylinder.
